Here's the latest on Callie and Arizona that Ausiello got out of Shonda Rhimes. Spoilers below the cut.

Question: Any scoop on Callie and Arizona on Grey’s Anatomy? Is the baby drama over and done with? —Jen
Ausiello:
The baby drama is over, but that doesn’t mean the stork will pay them a visit this fall. Explains Rhimes: “Will there be a baby right away? No. Will Callie’s turnaround [about having children] stick? Yes.”

So now she says it's over. I guess the baby issue "being unsettled" didn't mean that it was necessarily flowing right into season 7. Kind of relieved that they're taking a break from it. That being said, even though JCap will be going on mat leave, I do hope they get some minor storylines that can be resolved in single episodes. And I don't mean playing matchmakers. <shudder>

There's also a Derek-related spoiler in this week's Ask Ausiello.

They say "Callie's turnaround"? Is that a spelling error?

As much as I'm kind of pleased they're taking a break from the baby issue, I'm kind of anxious as to their amount of screen time this season (even more so after finding out there'll be 14 season regulars now). I mean barring marriage, where is there to go for them?

I'm really keen on their two characters doing a permanent crossover to PP. I think they'd add an interesting dynamic to that show and also they wouldn't be overcrowded by all the actors in GA.

Its not a spelling error ... it means that Callie`s desicion of not having kids if she cant be with arizona is in stand ... she is willing to give up on her dream because she loves arizona ... and I think that Arizona`s speach of how she wants a 10 kids and all that staff it was a moment ... the moment when you are facing the possibility of losing someone you truly love and she couldn permit that ... So, I think that for now Callie and Arizona resolved their baby issue problem, and i think that we`ll see how they managed to do that in the season premiere ...

I'm glad the baby issue is not going to be the main issue, I think there is only so much 'yes lets have, no lets not have them break up make up' one series can take. I'm just looking forward to see how they move forward from the series finale and the commotion they dealt with last season. Plus whether or not they are the stable couple everyone still looks upto :)

They are indeed, the stable couple everyone looks upto - YAY! Shonda really believes in them, and they are MFEO ... its just as important as Meredith and Derek - YAY YAY YAY :cheer:

I don't understand why they say that it doesn't mean that the stork will pay them a visit if they say that Callie's turnaround will stick. I think they mean Arizona no?
I am really curious were their relationship is going. They already know that they want to be together but now it is big time they start exploring eachother before taking any other steps. Callie asking the life altering question, AZ freaking out. I hope they can write all this in with enough screentime. With JCap going on mat leave. I am really curious how they will keep AZ out of the show for a little while. But with so many characters it will not be hard to do that.

Callie's turnaround will stick just means that the decision Callie made in the finale to not have kids without Arizona will stick, she wont have kids unless its with Arizona!! That's what they mean by turnaround xxx

Guess there will be some drama about Arizona saying she didn't trust Callie...maybe that's one of the things that makes Callie stick with her decision to not have kids...I'm curious what the "life altering proposal" is...doubt it's marriage since it's not legal in that state...doubt it's living together cause they pretty much already do ...meeting parents is usually life altering...

  • ukfan

I think the trust thing will come up, it was a bold statement from Arizona. It's also not exactly something you can sweep under the carpet either, you'd feel as though you would have to constantly prove yourself. And maybe thats where the struggle will come from. As to the life altering question, I think it's going to be something simple as in buying a house together or something along those lines. They've said no to babies being on the show and as you've pointed out civil partnership is not yet legal in that state. We have over a month to find out...long wait lol
