Callie/Arizona Spoiler from MegaBuzz E-mail

Finally! A somewhat substantial spoiler from MegaBuzz. Good thing that JCap was at the ABC Summer Press Tour to give us some bread crumbs on Callie and Arizona. Spoilers after the jump!

What can you tell me about my favorite Grey's Anatomy couple, Arizona and Callie? — Maggie
ADAM: Callie is about to pop a life-altering question, and it's safe to say that Arizona will be a bit freaked-out. And even though Jessica Capshaw, who plays Arizona, is pregnant, that doesn't mean her character is. "This is not being unveiled," Capshaw says of her pregnancy. "This is below a counter, in back of an X-ray, hidden by a big file. This baby is camera-shy."

Hee! This is going to be good. JCap said recently that they had their third table read, so I'm hoping this will be within the first three eps. Yippee! I hope the "freaked-out" part does not involve further ramblings about poundcake and lotion, and that AZ comes around soonish and not only after a life-threatening situation, like a certain other issue, ahem.

Please don't tell me she's gonna be typical brash-Callie and propose. Or could it be typical idiot-Callie asking AZ to start making babies...like tomorrow.

  • Admin

How about "will you move in with me"? That may bring about Baby Fight: Part Deux since Shonda has said that it's not settled.

Then again, I would think that AZ is ready to at least move in with Callie. Wonder if Callie does indeed crazily asks AZ to marry her. Now that sounds more and more likely, heh.

  • Reija

It's gotta be either Will you move in with me or Will you marry me. I'm hoping it's the last one cause I can see the whole scene in my head :D It could also be the moving in since Owen suggested Christina that they should get their own place :)

  • Sarah

I reckon Callie asks Az to move in, but arent' they already living together? Unless Callie asks officially, but why would Az freak out about that??

Hmm, maybe it is marriage then lol. Prob only for a joke maybe ;)

  • ilovecalliopearizona

can't w8 for season 7.. since crowena is happy together again..might be callie asking az to move in officially which means more cute and sweet moments for the two of them..ya'y!!!!! :D kinda want to know az past first, callie meeting her dad or maybe ex girlfriend or something, want to see callie jealous

  • CQ

Moving in? Sounds fine to me. Getting married? Please don't!! Way to soon. And besides that, when the time is there, I kind of want Arizona to pop the question!

  • NK

Have you guys read some of the stuff JCap has being saying in her recent interviews? It sounds like she and Callie might not stay together? Any one else pick up on that? Or am I just being paranoid?

Yeah I am kind of a bit skeptical/disappointed about all the stuff that JCap has been saying. As far as the question that spoiler talks about, I can't see AZ freaking out about "let's move in together" so Callie may be trying to prove something by proposing. If that is the case then it could either be funny/moving or if AZ acts like she did over the baby thing then it's yet another kick in the guts for Callie. I'm not looking forward to S7 anymore just now. :(

What comments has jcap been saying about callie and Arizona

  • NK

I can't remember which article it was, 'cause I've read so many over the past week, but she says AZ may not hold to her promise of having kids. I also remember her saying that all the couples break and she kinda implied they may not end up together.

  • Galen

When it came to the whole baby thing, I understood and sympathized more with Callie. But if she proposes and AZ flips out...I might have to side with Arizona. Is it just me or does this seem extremely fast? And it will only further the baby issue, since i would assume they would like that resolved before they get married. Oh Callie...

  • Tristan

Does anyone think we can still believe what Shonda has said at the end of season 6? MFEO, they love each other nothing else matters, they know they want to be together. I only really started watching season 4 a little then came back for 5 and 6, and I hear Shonda is not totally reliable.

  • ukfan

I think it may be marriage on the big question. Yet I think it makes more sense for Callie to freak out more than arizona, bearing in mind Callie has already has one failed marriage. I am not worried about speculation from JCaps point, she isn't going to give away if they are happily ever after, that doesn't make for good drama nor for good viewing. So putting the suspense there makes you want S7 to come faster. I would like them to stay together more than anything, but we got another 2 seasons of these girls, happy happy could get boring! But Happy Happy will do for now please lol

  • AClove

Omg!! Moving in!! Yessss! That has to be it..

I'm freaking out.. This summerbreak is way to long.. I miss our girls.. :(

  • Effi

Mhmmmmm... I'm just thinking "in bed" would be a great way to hide the camera-shy baby, no? Very effective...

  • Linz

I can't believe AZ would flip out at the prospect of moving in together. They are already doing that for all intents and purposes. It has to be a proposal or Callie wants her to have the baby because she can't for some reason. But wait, didn't ER go that route?

If it is a marriage proposal, AZ's freak out could be from something that happened it the past. Remember how she freaked out when she thought Callie was breaking up with her? Perhaps she was jilted or left at the altar before. What do we know about her past relationships other than she once brought some girl named Joann to meet her mom?

  • Spacedout

I think it's not baby or wedding, but maybe moving in or more fun, like I want your name as a tatoo,it's totaly freaked out for me,and we know Callie for these sort of things lol :P

  • mfeo

I've read some of the articles but none of them say much in my opinion...she says in one she thinks they are not dwindling...shonda says for season 7 they will be together...they are two people who want to settle down together and have to figure out how...I kinda hoped the whole baby thing was done...MFEO means MFEO so I hope its not a whole season of them being miserable just to break up again

  • Anonymous  - re:

I think it could be something completely different, like "let's indeed go to Spain/Fiji and on the way back meet my ENTIRE family in Miami"
    I would certainly freak out...

  • ukfan

I can't believe it is moving in, they practically live together anyway and that isn't exactly "life altering". I swear I read that Shonda said no to marriage until its legal in Washington, and I feel its too soon on the baby front. Yet it's GOT to be marriage right? But least it says Arizona only freaks out a 'bit' and not completely freaks out to the point of leaving Callie.Oh 23rd is going to come round extremely sloooooooooowly

  • Jade

I sure hope Callie isn't going to propose because it's way too soon! But more importantly, i hope she doesn't say "hey what do you think if we have Mark as our sperm donor?" *just thinking about it gives me the shivers* :0

btw, i just finished reading JCap's latest interviews and i realize that some people are a little upset by certain things she said. What does everyone here think?

Personally, i agree with her in the sense that i'd rather C/A get an authentic storyline than have them be happy and perky all the time. I love Calzona and i really hope they are each other's end game, but i honestly wouldn't mind seeing them go through some struggles like all couples do in real life. I do, however, hope that they continue to respect and love one another even when they have trouble reaching a compromise.

As for increasing gay visibility on television, i have to say i kinda agree with JCap that the best way to do that is to be authentic and tell good stories. It's not enough to have gay characters just for visibility's sake...we need characters that can change the hearts and minds of viewers. You can have 10 gay couples on a show but if the audience start to feel that you're over-protecting them because they're your "gay couple"(or, if they find their storyline unbelievable), noone's going to find them interesting and people will start tuning out. Worse still, some people might even start to find it propaganda-ish....

That being said, i understand the need to promote more positive images of gay couples so as to break down stereotypes (and i can't emphasize enough how glad i am that Callie/Arizona exist on tv), but just like everything else in life, we have to be careful not to go overboard or it's just going to backfire. It's a slippery slope afterall.

Anyway, i think i believe shonda when she said that callie and arizona are MFEO..fingers crossed that she didn't suddenly change her mind over the summer hiatus. :X

  • Linz

    Jade, excellent perspective!

  • Jade

    Thanks Linz! :)

  • MFEO

I hope Shonda tweets they are still MFEO too..she did say they are 2 people who want to settle down with each other so lets hope they are able to find a way...i think it would be unrealistic to make them break up again...

  • Linda

After reading JCap's interview I was kinda confused. It is obvious though that Calzona will struggle again and that it will definitely not be sunshine afterall. This is a good thing cause they are still in the beginning of their relation, meaning that they are still discovering eachother. And she is right, it would be boring if they would be happy all the time. I am just scared that, with so many characters on the show and Shonda saying that it will be more meredith time, that Calzona will have to go through their troubles and solving it in like a few little episodes.
I really hope they are still MFEO to Shonda and that JCap is just causing doubts about that amongst us fans to ensure that we stay tuned in. But reading the articles just made me realize that it is not sure that Calzona will survive. And I am afraid that Arizona will be one of the people that does not stick to her words of the final....
Concerning the life altering question. It can't be marriage as Shonda would not do that until it is legal. Moving in together might be an option. They already kinda live together but it is still unofficial in my opinion. I think that Callie will propose to buy a house or something and this will make AZ freak out as then it will be an official step.
It is weird to accept that someone like AZ is not wanting to get involved in the serious parts of the relationship. I think that moving in together officially is an obvious next step they should take in discovering eachother...

  • spre  - guess new season

    I read Jcap's interview article.
Not exactly, but she said calzona are going together, but they struggle with their realtionship. there are being some issues between two girls. she also said the baby issue is not solved completly 'cause it is big thing. Right. baby thing is a big deal. AZ has just change her mind. but obviously, she need time for moveing her mind cearly. but i think they go through together with love.

  • Britt

If az changes her mind they still have to stay together because remember on the season finale Callie said first "people died...I don't want to have kids if it means I can't be with you" so she was ready to accept not having kids.

Oh please... no Calzona wedding... I think it's just too soon.

  • ukfan

Agreed over no Calzona wedding, kind of writes them off to not make it. No weddings last on Grey's unless its done on a post-it lol

  • Linz

I realize that I am in the minority here but, honestly, I do not have a problem with Calzona getting married and struggling through it. Marriage is a commitment and if you are committed, you don't breakup because of initial struggles. I think they'll make it.

JCap is off on maternity leave soon. I'm not confident that Grey's will be back next year. There's not much screen time for the courtship that so many want. I believe that they are committed so bring on the wedding bells.
