So cool news! i totally called what was going to happen with the cliffhanger for two weeks...
Bad news: I hate cliffhangers!!!! ugh i love them together, i hope Arizona can make a compromise with Callie on maybe just one kid because i dont think Callie will budge on it, and i would hate for their relationship to be over because they ARE great

  • Allison

I am really worried that they are going to try and break Callie and Arizona up. I hope they dont they are my favorites!!

  • lyn

can anyone tell me what happened with callie and arizona??? i haven't seen the ep yet :(

  • katey

just got to say i loved th chicken thing lol so cute of course arizona would have sum weird thing like tht ay haha nd i realli hope they dont break up i love them

  • ashleigh

way to add drama!! i don't think they will break up due to the past scandals!! also jcapshaw has just become a regular!! shonda just doesn't do babies! as they said they are the most stable couple atm and this wouldn't b good tv if there wasn't some drama added into the mix!!

however, if calzona break up i will want blood!!! no jokes

  • fiona

Nah i don't think that they will break up it would be stupid to break them up, they go great together, the chicken thing was brilliant

  • kirei

oh my god. oh my god. callie wants children. arizona doesn`t but mark does. my mind is going crazy. help!

  • Linda

Can anyone just summarize the preview for next ep? I am European and do not know what happened... A huge thank you!!!

  • Admin

Next week's preview was all about Hunt and his Iraq war flashbacks. There was no Callie & Arizona stuff in the previews.

  • Lolls

AGH, STOOPID HUNT and all his crap! lol

  • Linda

Then how the cliffhanger is pronounced? I am sooo curious

  • Jodi

In terms of Callie and Arizona, this episode was all "we're perfect together", until Callie mentioned one day having kids and Arizona's literal words were, "Yikes...no kids!" If anything can break up an otherwise perfect relationship, that's it...

Please God (Shonda), don't do this to us!!

  • lemonini

OMFG THESE WRITERS HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME ! ffs ! it was totally perfect! until the end wtf r they thinking! im on the verge of boycotting this stupid show ! Lol gimmi a little peace of mind damit:(

  • Jen

I think it is good for their characters. They are my favorite couple on tv but without conflict they become boring. It is a tv show and they have to bring the drama. Have faith, regardless of what happens I think they will be together in the end.

  • Lolls

    You said it Jen!

    A few thoughts:

I am sad about the relationship hurdle, but I actually think this is really consistent for Arizona. The personality profile of her character seems to be someone who is tightly in control of her life so that she doesn't get hurt. We have seen this make her come off as hardened, emotionless (e.g. scene with Karev in airplane about tiny coffins) or jumping the gun on a decision (e.g. not dating newborn Callie). We've also seen her need to be in control cause her to miss moments and regret it later (e.g. chicken pox sexy scratching).

Her decisiveness also makes her a fantastic surgeon and advocate for her patients, so I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad thing. It also makes sense. She lost her brother and Shonda has twittered that we "don't know a lot about her yet"; I can only imagine how that kind of grief would make you want to guard yourself against further exposure/vulnerability. To love is to open yourself up to being hurt, AZ knows that all to well with her brother. Ironically, AZ probably knows more about hurt/loss than Callie does...

The fascinating piece, for me, about their relationship is that Callie is the opposite. She throws herself into chances to love and really wears her heart on her sleeve... and she gets hurt as a result. But that doesn't keep her from throwing herself in. If Arizona's need for control disappoints us sometime (e.g. the newborn scene, the I don't want kids scene), so does Callie's disregard for control all in the name of love (e.g. volunteering to raise Sloan's baby with Mark).

They are really opposites in this sense. I love how they have slowly developed this side to Arizona. Now I just hope that they will both be able to influence each other; Arizona to help Callie better protect herself and Callie to help Arizona let go a little. I'm not super hopeful because of how Grey's handled the Hahn departure, but they've also done a great job at having couples influence each other in the past (Derek with Meredith, Burke and Owen with Cristina, Izzie with Alex, Lexie with Mark). So here's hoping...

    Sorry for the ramble!

  • Guest (Lurker)

Arizon not wanting kids seems a bit inconsistent compared to her conversation with Alex in the plane in season 5. She said they were at that age for marriage, babies...

  • Jenn

Callie's face after Arizona said yikes to kids... not good :( And I don't think Arizona has a clue that Callie was disturbed by her comment.
So now that we know what the "difference in their future" will be in 2 weeks, I hope it is something Arizona will atleast think about and talk it over, instead of just saying NO kids for me.

  • ANJA

i think she was a bit scared after that kid Norah surgery she was scared that she can hurt a kid , but as Jen said its drama it have to be a argument betwen them becouse of that we can wait for the next episode :)

ps i hope that Jessica Capshaw stay in SGH longer then hanh

  • v_e_r_o

Well I can say  ...comment on the children to callie did not seem very good  and just when they find that the relationship is established... but otherwise I understand that Arizona is full of fears...not yet known because much of its past... I hope to overcome this drawback...was very sad after watching the episode yesterday :( :'( ...if I like the new relationship of Mark and Teddy seems like a fun couple... NOT want to END the relationship between them ... DO NOT WANT ... :(

  • raerae

I have decided not to watch GA anymore, not for a good while anyway, I want to come back after many many episodes when they are happy again and then I'll back track and watch all the ones I missed in between last week to whenever. How ever long it takes. It's making me too sad. I am so worried that Callie and Mark will raise a baby togeher, whether it be little sloan's baby or their own.

  • Tristan

I have a feeling things are not going to end well. Between Little Sloan coming back and the Ep. sides I read for a character that sounds like Callie in Ep 21 it just looks like we are in for a lot of drama. And everyone seems to think Mark and Callie are going to be together. :( :( :(

  • Claire (who may be a tad bit d

eww puke a little at the thort of mark and callie together and not callie and arizona. i think for Callie to want to have a child with someone then she must truly love them.........but not like with O'Mally that was to cling on to him.......but to actually want a baby and see it in the futore like she does with Arizona then thats love and she has never had that with any1 else............does that make sence at all ......i hope they make it through this...........i am praying to the god that is the cratore of the Greys universer xxxxx :s

  • Tristan

I totally understand what you are saying. And I puke a little too at the thought of that. But if you go to Grey's Gabble ther is a scene in EP 21 were a patient totally flirts with a DR. and it sounds like it is Callie. They don't give a lot of the plot awat. But I just have a nagging feeling they are either broken up or having problems.

  • Jen

I'm not too worried, though I'm not looking forward to what may occur over the next few episodes. But I have faith that everything will work out for Calzona in the end for several reasons...

    1. Shonda said Calzona is like MerDer. I choose to believe that means that they are perfect for each other and will be together in the long run.

    2. Every couple goes through drama, whether it be about kids or other issues. That's real life. If everything were always perfect... well, it wouldn't be Grey's.

    3. Callie isn't going to have/raise a baby with Mark. (a) It's too predictable. GA is all about throwing you for a loop. They build you up to think one thing is going to happen, and the complete opposite occurs. That's where most of the drama comes from. And (b), Shonda/writers/producers/etc already incurred MASSIVE negative feedback from the whole Erica thing. The last thing they are going to do it "turn" Callie straight. The wrath would be 100 times stronger and they'd lose a HUGE fan base. So, I'm pretty confident Callie is *NOT* going to get together with Mark or any other guy, for that matter.

    4. With #3 in mind, Grey's writers wouldn't have two different lesbian relationships on the show. And neither Sara nor Jessica is leaving (at least, they better not because that in itself would create another massive uproar and I myself would no longer watch, along with, I'm sure, thousands of others). Therefore, I'm sure Callie and Arizona will be together in the end.

    5. Calzona is just so amazing.

So, while I'm NOT looking forward to the possible fighting/breaking up/drama, I'm not too worried. Because if they do break up (::cringes::), I think it'll only be for a few episodes at most. Not that I want them to, of course. But at least it will mean screen time for both of these brilliant actresses. So, yay on that part.

  • Tristan

You make some excellent points. In my anger I can't believe I forgot about the Hahn backlash. I am really hoping this is just something that is temporary and resolved hopefuly by the end of this season. Thanks for bringing up those points they helped me analyze the situation more clearly.

  • Alyssa

No matter what happens between Callie and Arizona i just dont see her hooking up with Mark at least not in the near future because if her and Arizona do break up because of the kid issue i can see her being very heartbroken and in no mood to do anything, you have to remember i mean the grey's timeline is very screwed up but when they first introduced Arizona it was almost Valentines day( her and Karev talking about it in plane) and now valentines day passed like 3 episodes ago so i mean i am thinking they have been together a year ish... more or less. you dont get over someone of that long quickly
The day that Callie and Arizona break up will not be a happy episode for them

  • FrikeinNotHappy

2 weeks ! 2 WEEKS! not fair lol now we have to suffer for 2 dam weeks lol

  • Nikita

Is it just me or did something about Callie's facial expression in the cafeteria seem amock to you? Like she wanted a baby with Mark? Eeuw, to if Calzone break up. And even more eeuw to Callie and Mark getting together...

The only way a break-up can be justified will be if AZ and Addison hook up. And that'll never EVER happen, so therefore there is no justification for a break-up.

  • Sam

I think, and I'm trying to stay optimistic over this cause it's 2 weeks till the next episode, Arizona said it herself, "Sometimes I call it wrong."

She just has to think it over, talk it out with Callie (who should also make an effort to listen to AZ's side of it), and go from there. Plus, the day AZ had in that episode probably rattled her causing her to make that quick comment on the kids.

  • jbee807

Sam I agree with you. This is not, I work with kids everyday so I don't want any of my own. It's also not something she has been thinking about forever. The expression on her face after she told Noah's parents he was alright showed she was thinking about something. I think she was scared and started thinking about the tiny coffins at that moment and knew she would react the same if it was her kids.

Your also right, they need to talk it over together and work this out.

  • CQ

:?: What does Arizona say at lunch after "shut up" (and before "that we share the same thoughts)?!

Can't wait for the next episode. I'm ready for some drama - mainly because I just KNOW that they'll be okay.
Hate ABC for their breaks all the time...

ps. I work with kids (in trouble) as well, I totally understand Arizona. Hope they'll write a good dialogue about this, cause it's kind of clear now that these ladies hardly ever talk (the sexy part of their relationship obviously isn't over yet ;) )...

  • Admin

AZ says, "Shut up! Are we so well matched that we have all the same thoughts?"

  • CQ

:?: Oh, also: what does she want besides the chickens?!?

LOL the woman really shouldn't talk while having lunch/chinese food - the scenes with the mouthcaps are hard enough. :D

  • Admin

The woman wants dogs as well. :side:
