Well from what we've heard from Shonda it seems like the creators are determined to make it work for Callie and Arizona.

Maybe Arizona and Teddy could be BFFs? I definitely see the potential for them to be good friends. They definitely share some similarities. And Owen said the reason why Teddy joined the army was because her best friend died in war. That reminded me of Arizona's brother who died in Iraq.

To me, the "I like her" was because Teddy stood up to Cristina and AZ really respected that.
That is, of course, in addition to diagnosing the problem right away.

i don`t think arizona is hitting on teddy. she is just a being her typical self. and teddy diagnose her patiently correctly. i think they can be bff.

Okok, relax people... Arizona was most definitely not hitting on Teddy. At all. She was just being friendly. I can see them being very good friends, though.

It doesn't make a lot of sense that the writers would make AZ hit on Teddy just one week after the exchange of "ILY"s...but i was browsing another board and apparently some people there also felt like Az was being kinda flirty.

So i rewatched their scenes together...and i must say i still get that odd flirtatious vibe.

I think it's the way Az said she liked Teddy and the look (the "uhh-i-dont-know-what-to-say-to-that" look)on Christina/Jackson/the patient's mom's faces that made it kinda "awkward" (and funny lol). She could easily have said it another way that would make it seem less flirty IMO. And that scrub cap comment..? hmm.....

But then again, it could simply be one of those innocent "now i get why people call you mcdreamy" moments.

Anyway, even if she were flirting with teddy...somehow i just couldn't get angry at her. The way she does it is simply too cute. And i actually thought it was kinda funny lol

Either way, I don't think there's a need to worry coz from shonda's tweet it sounds like there's gonna be some cute calzona kissing coming up!

I don't think there was any flirting going on. AZ is naturally sweet. Hahaha. She talks to everybody like that.

Also, Teddy is obviously not over Owen. On the promo for next week Cristina is worried about them. Whether it is true or not doesn't matter. I think the writers wouldn't have insinuated that feeling if they wanted Teddy to go after AZ.

ILY's consolidate the relationship for at least a little while. I mean it's I love you..

Personally I took AZ's "I like her" comment to Yang as a chance to bug yang. At the lunch scene teddy said that yang didnt like her and it was obv during that scene with the asthma kid, so i think she was just being funny and saying it to make yang mad.

I didnt get a flirt vibe from her at all. AZ is just happy and friendly and she was just making teddy's first day more enjoyable in my opinion

This is kind of irritating for Callie and Arizona fans to think it's ok for Arizona to flirt with someone else. I know Arizona is naturally a nice person and needs friends outside of Callie. But we should be supporting Calzona and not giving Shonda any ideas.

I agree. Callie & Arizona fans should have faith in AZ and her love for Callie. After their amazing declaration of love last episode, it would be insane that AZ would want to flirt with someone else, not to mention that it would be complete character assassination.

I'm also concerned that Shonda is getting a lot of crazy tweets from Callie & Arizona fans now and getting ideas.

The scenes were pretty funny, but yeah its definitely not okay for Az to flirt around so hopefully some of us were simply reading too much into this!

But like i said earlier on, i dont think we need to worry yet coz from what we've read on interviews so far it seems like S6 is about cementing their relationship

I don't want Arizona to stray and cheat on Callie, that's for sure. But I do hope Teddy could become Arizona's Bff!

I don't think she will. But Calzona fans shoudn't act like we want someone to come between them. We want them to be together and then someone new comes on and some people think it's ok for Arizona to be flirty. Support your girls! Don't give Shonda any ideas.

But yeah after reading some of your posts it does seem like it would be completely out of character for AZ to hit on Callie, and since the writers all love her.. i don't think we need to worry.

Oh I totally dont think AZ is gonna stray. I thought their interaction was friends, becoming almost bff's like mark and callie.

AZ is not the type to stray given her upbringing. Plus, the writers all love AZ, so I really don't think they want to ruin her character (knock on wood).

In fact, I hope they become BFFs. AZ needs a buddy just like Callie has Mark.

1) Arizona was not hitting on Teddy for all the reasons stated above... secondly... I think JCap plays Az as someone who really appreciates people.(ie getting the McDreamy thing) As we saw in last week's ep Arizona still is a little bummed at Christina for using her. I agree that her comment to Yang about liking Teddy was linked to that... I also think that she really does just like/respect Teddy as a surgeon and as a person.She needs a buddy anyway.

2)Also, if you guys are referring to her complimenting Teddy's bird scrub cap. I saw that as total and complete plot device. It fit with Az's characterization as someone who likes cute scrub caps and also allowed Christina to make that comment about the scrub cap to Owen later. Therefore, letting us get some more back story on Teddy.

3) It gave Arizona something to do and a way to get to know Teddy. She actually got to interact with people just as a character and not as Callie's girlfriend. She hasn't gotten to do that very often since Calzona became an item. So, Az's character is fleshed out as well. I think they are really investing in her.

4) Who knows what is going to happen... but I really don't see Az or Callie just jumping ship. The writers have had them fight through a lot to get to the place that they are. They have just said, I love you. I think we're good for now.

i thought this episode had some seriously great scenes but alot of it was BORING! the whole Izzie thing is really boring. i'm sorry Heigl, but just come back and be all Izzie again, i freakin hate dark and twisty Izzie more than bright and shiny Izzie which i didnt think was possible.

someone shoot Percy and Reed, they are so irrelevant, they bring nothing to the show and they take up precious screen time from worthy characters i.e Callie/Arizona

i think that Arizona is a very cut and flirty person and everyone is reading too much into the Teddy/Arizona thing. Did u guys miss the looks Callie and Arizona shot each other at the lunch table? When Callie said she drove away Hahn Arizona has her the cutest smile i sighed out loud. and then when Arizona kicked Mark under the table haha Callie gave her a magical look. LOVE people! it all about the LOVE!

Arizona laughing and nodding and enjoying Owen get caught out, i think was more about her relationship with Owen than her checking out Teddy. Her and Owen are really comfortable with one another, i thought it was so cute when she patted him on the back.

Also, I never thought someone sucking on a straw could be so hot, but JCap and her playing of AZ has made me changed my mind. and the lunch scene was the best part of that episode. I loved that the writers are having AZ interact with the rest of the cast and its not just all calzona scense(which I dont mind either).

and Jazz I agree, I hate dark and twisty Izzie. Its either make her go back to normal or just get rid of her. I have not missed her at all when she was gone from the episodes.

I love the Arizona and Callie story line, but Callie but the director seems really out of touch with them. Women touch a lot. It was totally out of character for Arizona to be bawling her eyes out on the street and Callie doesn't even hug her. And what's up with them making Callie dress like a ho lately?

I don't think that was the director. I think that's just Callie. When things get overwhelming for her sometimes she acts awkward. At least that's my observation.
